YES! It’s that time of the year where you won’t be able to escape the holiday spirit. The magic of christmas comes to life every year with decorations and of course bright and creative ways to put up lights! Who doesn't love the look of Christmas lights? Unfortunately, getting them up can be a real pain. But maybe it doesn't have to be. Here’s how to prepare!

The best time for hanging Christmas and outdoor holiday lights is before your weather turns wet and cold. So if you haven’t done so, do it NOW! Christmas is only 4 weeks away.

Be sure to map out where your lights will go and make sure you have enough working lights for that area. take into account the eaves, windows, doors, shrubs, trees, and the like. Before hanging any lights, plug them in to make sure they work. If bulbs are broken or missing, replace them.

If your home’s eaves are low, you may be able to use a stepladder; otherwise, plan to use an extension ladder. Place it firmly on flat ground and, extending it well above the eaves, lean it at an angle that will be comfortable and safe to climb—neither too steep nor too flat.

Be sure to have a buddy while you’re up there.
Hang the lights along the eaves as your objective is to hang lights as easily and safely as possible without marring your home’s trim or walls. For attaching lights along gutters or the roof, use plastic clips made for the job.
Attach the lights to the trim. For attaching lights to window trim and similar vertical surfaces, use rope, light clips or adhesive or nail-on plastic string light clips. Do not use staples or nails to hang light strings, they can pierce or wear away the protective insulation, creating an electrical hazard.

Hope this helps! And make sure to turn your lights off when you leave or go to bed at night.
